Start with the repeated day

A useful wardrobe begins with the clothes you return to. Notice which pieces suit your working day, your usual journeys and the places where you spend time. Repetition gives you practical information: whether a collar sits comfortably, a sleeve moves easily or a pair of trousers works with the shoes you actually wear.

Change one element at a time

A uniform need not mean identical clothing every day. Keeping a familiar silhouette makes small changes easier to understand. Try a different knit texture, a lighter shirt or a change in trouser width. Consider the whole combination before adding another piece.

Build around what works

Begin with existing favourites and identify the gap a new garment would fill. Material, fit and care requirements matter more than the number of pieces. A smaller wardrobe is useful when its contents work together and remain comfortable enough to be worn again.
